Summer Happenings
Time seems to have sped up lately. I've been wanting to write more but the summer takes hold early here in the Carolinas and our small garden sucks up all my creative energy. There's such a short time, maybe a few months, to plant and grow all the things I've been wanting to try out. This year, we have finally grown melons! It's been a dream of mine for years now to have melons. Out of many seedlings, only one survived but it produced around ten melons! and it trellised terrifically - around 20 feet of vines. But, sadly, the grubs got most of them. At least these were the most pretty green color 👀 Our sunflowers were proving tough to cultivate as well, but the one that did bloom was mighty and I hope to grow it again next year. But recently, I've been writing more as the days grow shorter and we just found out that I won the Geek Partnership short story contest for 2022! Very exciting as I had entered on the last day on a whim. Hopefully more to come!
